If you are the latter, you can still shoot the scenes that you would like to capture. But you must remember that somebody else is getting paid for the task and they need to shoot the whole event without much interference from people like you who would only like to shoot for personal reasons. Stay away from their camera angles as much as possible. Through this, you are helping them get the shots that they need to be able to capture everything perfectly and smoothly.

If you are the professional in the scenario, you need to take control of your role. You must be ready of the fact that there will be people who have their own cameras and would want to shoot as much as they can during the procedure. You need to strategize with your shots so that you will be able to avoid them while finishing all the scenes on the checklist that you have created or that you have on your mind.

2. You have to be prepared with all the tools that you need for your shoot to be successful. Before you leave your place or your office, make sure that you have with you all the necessary equipments that you need to finish all tasks that you have to do during the event. Aside from the basic things like you cameras, stands or tripods and lights, you need to have some back up when it comes to the other things that you will need a lot during the whole affair that you are covering.

Make sure that you have extra tapes and batteries with you. This way, you will be able to shoot all the events without editing yourself on the spot. It is better that you have many shots or you have consumed numerous tapes so that you will have wide range of selections when you are already in the editing phase.

3. Go back at the plan and schedule of the event that you will be documenting the night before it happens. You need to double check the dates and time as well as the venue. You must make sure that nothing will go wrong on the day that you need to perform your role as the camera person or the one who will execute wedding videography. You need to at the venue earlier to be able to capture more scenes that you can use for a more comprehensive coverage.
