Allow me to explain this statement a bit more. What my mother was saying is if you can find the item the person is wanting at a discount, don't feel bad about it - just buy it. When you give the item away, it doesn't matter how much it cost you. All that counts is the joy the item brings to the person receiving the holiday gift idea.
